The climate is always changing. Earth has been producing greenhouse gases for Billions of years. Human contribution to greenhouse gases is tiny, temporary, and now almost entirely caused by the greentards who protested nuclear energy. Space-based solar power is inevitably the future.

I have a response as a AGW skeptic.
Why didn't you use the 2018-2019 ice map of the Arctic?? It's just as available as the 2012 map.
Did you use the 2012 to make your point "better"?? Why use an outdated map??
So your not 100% accurate after all. The fact is your looking kind of silly even bring it up. Learn some physics, especially astrophysics. So now I can't watch your videos anymore.

    Mistakes Galore in this video.
    1) No one can live on Svalbard - you can only work there or visit short term.
    2) It's not owned by Norway - it's administered and governed by Norway
    3) The "Visa" is wavered.
    4) NOAA and NASA admitted lying about 25 years of arctic ice imagery.
    5) There's more ice now at the north pole as there was 25 years ago.
    6) Russian and Norwegian ice-breakers are employed 365 in the arctic to keep the shipping lanes open due to the increase in ice.
    7) There is so many polar bears from so much breeding due to so much extra ice that polar bears on Svalbard are being culled (shot) and removed.
And YES, I've been there, especially in winter.

le chatelier's principle : Think of the atmospheric conditions prior to the 19th century. Now add 200 years of pulling carbon out of the ground. A new equilibrium will be reached. We might not know exactly what that equilibrium is, however the transition to it will disrupt.

You mixed Pyarmiden and Barentsburg together. Two completely different towns. Kinda a big blunder since Pyramiden; The ghost-town has its own history that should be told. (Why did people leave in a hurry etc) And Tourism to Pyramiden is a huge success! That big that they decided to build out mobile-network to a dead town. Barentsburg is a working-town so not many tourists go there, but still lot of tourism by boat from LYB. Barentsburg is also the only place on Svalbard where you will be able to see a cat.

  • Ola Ruud
    Ola Ruud Day ago

Lots of the photos are from Pyramiden, not Barentsburg. Pyramiden is not more soviet as it is has not been a permanent settlement since before the fall of the USSR. Now there is a small tourist hotel and a pretty decent snowmobile tour destination.
Just went there earlier this year and it was a pretty nice trip for anyone feeling a bit adventurous.

yes, the climate never was static, but there is a strong and obvious correlation between greenhouse gases and rise in temperature since the industrialisation with a huge scientific consensus.
the earth is warming faster at rate never seen before and if we as humanity don't act now well be in deep trouble.
if you want to get into the topic i can recommend the ipcc report which is a rather converative report not regarding various tipping points etc. but covering the jist of it

Climate change is only kinda a existential threat, let me explain because of natural gas the United States is the fastest in the world at lowering emissions. France also uses nuclear power which comprises most of its power production and it has very low emissions. The Half as Interesting guy would probably argue that A. I’m a climate denier. Which I am not climate change is real and caused by humans. B. That we should implement Socialism AKA the green new deal which would take up millions of square miles of land, cost trillions of dollars, and turn the United States into a socialist state. Funny how nobody said that until a few years ago. You used to hear nonsense about how the world was actually getting colder and that NASA/IPCC/etc. were lying about temperature changes. Eventually, though, the evidence that the planet is warming became too overwhelming for all but the most stubborn deniers to ignore. Now, instead of saying the earth isn't warming, they just say it's not our fault. It's grasping at straws, and it should really make people think about the sincerity of the arguments they choose to embrace. By contrast, scientists have been pretty consistent for some time: the earth is warming, and it is largely due to human activity. There's debate about the scale of the effect and the amount of time we have left, but the rest is effectively settled at this point.
